Leverage Evergage data into Google Remarketing via Google Analytics.

Target people throughout the web based on what you know about them in Evergage based on their onsite or in-app visit.  

 

Step-by-step guide

Overview

1) Pass the necessary Evergage data into Google Analytics

2) Link Google Remarketing to Google Analytics and Configure the data you want passed from GA into Google Remarketing

3) Set up Google Remarketing to Target based on this Data

 

1) Pass the necessary Evergage data into Google Analytics

Evergage passes (in real-time) the data it knows on the visitor to Google Analytics. First, complete the Google Analytics integration with Evergage described here: Configuring Google Analytics

Once this integration is complete, Evergage is passing the following into Google Analytics:

  • For Evergage Personalized Experiences
    • Event Category: Experience
    • Event Label: View_ExperienceName, Click_ExperienceName
  • For Evergage Actions
    • Event Category: Action
    • Event Label: ActionName


2) Link Google Remarketing to Google Analytics and Configure the data you want passed from GA into Google Remarketing


Click on Admin in your GA account, then Under Property, Click on Remarketing, then Audiences 


Add a new Audience Segment, Define Audience, Create New then Under Advanced, Click on Sequence


Type in Event or Custom Dimension (as explained above)


Pick the Segment or Event or Industry that is desired


Apply and Save


See your list of Audiences including the ones made with Evergage events, dimensions

Open up Adwords and Under the Audience Tab you can see your list of Audiences and by clicking on +Remarketing you can create new remarketing campaigns towards those audiences.

 

Choose the AdGroup


Chose the Audience for retargeting - this is where your choosing the Audience you made in GA using the Evergage data.


Your campaign is complete

 

NOTE:  There is often a 24 to 72 hour delay in the propogation of data from GA to Google Adwords.
