This playbook describes how to export data from Evergage through the user API into a third party tool. This gives the third party tool access to user information based on the user’s attributes captured by Evergage during a browsing session on your site. Having additional information in the third party system ensures message consistency across channels regardless of how the user interacts with your organization. In certain instances, you can configure your third party tool to recognize an attribute and perform some action if the attribute is there. For example, you could configure your CRM to create a new record if a certain attribute exists.

Example

One way to take advantage of this is with a client on-boarding survey, which captures the user’s answers as attributes. Because the user is logged in when he is added as a record in Evergage, he is also added as user to Salesforce. Salesforce then reaches out to Evergage through the API to retrieve the user’s answers.

Different attributes are passed to Salesforce depending on the responses of the customer to the potential answer options (one of the questions is ‘would you like help with x, y, or z’). Salesforce has been configured to create a new opportunity based on the specific attribute, then alert the Support Team to follow up and complete the potential upsell.

Measure

Since this play is related to the passing of data to a third party, the measurement of success is to be able track the impact of that passed data. In the example above, there was a measurable uptick in leads generated for the Support Team.
