Introduction

As digital marketers, we strive to make it as easy as possible for our customers to access the sections of our website that are most relevant to them. In the case of online gaming, one way to do this is to personalize the main menu to include the games a customer bet the most on as well as the games he or she played for the longest period of time.

Example

A visitor comes to the site for the first time and plays some free games. Once she plays a game, the navigation bar automatically changes to include a ‘Quick Play’ button on the left. When the visitor clicks the main menu, she will see the game she has recently played in the ‘My Favorite Games’ list and ‘Slots & Games’ in the ‘My Favorite Categories’ list. As she plays more games, more categories and games will be added to these lists. To further improve relevancy, the games are listed in order of those the visitor spent the most time playing, not in chronological order.

Now, each time the user returns to the site, she can go straight to the ‘Quick Play’ area of the nav bar to find the games most relevant to her. The enables visitors to spend more time playing games and less time looking for their favorite game(s). This also improves brand loyalty and increases the likelihood of people coming back more often to play games and make bets.

Segment

Provided this is an Evergage Promote message, there are no segments to define.

Measure

Run a control to determine who is playing more and how much time they are spending on your website. Also, incorporate goals such as played ten or more games in the last week or spent more than £100 in the last seven days.

Process

Here is a checklist of what you need to do in Evergage to create this Evergage Promote play on your own site:

  1. Create the campaign and use the ‘dynamic’ element within ‘promoted content’ to show the game played the most over the last 7 days
  2. Create an additional button in your site navigation menu bar using an Evergage campaign and change the text to reflect the game played the most then show it to the relevant segment
