New Name: Marketing Cloud Personalization

Interaction Studio (formerly Evergage) is now known as Marketing Cloud Personalization. The new name reflects our mission and vision for innovation in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. We wish we could snap our fingers to update the name everywhere, but you can expect to see the previous name in various places until we replace it.

Interaction Studio provides customers with the ability to schedule campaigns to help ensure that personalized experiences only run between certain dates, during certain days of the week, or even during specific hours of the day. This type of increased control helps business users further target and tailor personalized content to individuals across channels.

Accessing Campaign Scheduling Rules

Campaign Scheduling rules are available for use in web and server-side template based campaigns. To access campaign scheduling rules in your account, simply follow these steps:

  1. Click + Rule
  2. In the Mega-menu select Scheduling from the left nav
  3. There will be two rule types to choose from Date Range and Time of Day

Date Range Rule

This rule allows a customer to schedule a campaign to run with the following criteria:

  • Today
  • On or After a Specific Date and Time
  • On or Before a Specific Date and Time
  • Between Specific Dates/Times

Before you are able to configure the time, you will need to select the desired date. Once a date option is picked, a time entry field will appear at the bottom of the calendar.

The Date Range rule date and time selections are made in context of the timezone of the person configuring the campaign. The text next to date picker makes it clear what timezone the campaign is currently being configured in.

Timezone Example:

If a campaign creator is based in Boston, they will see date/time options that reflect Eastern Daylight Time and the campaign will run according to these selections. If a user based in San Francisco opens this campaign in the app, the timezone/date selections will be shown in Pacific time based on what was saved/selected by the Boston based employee. So, if a Boston based campaign creator sets the time to 9am EST on the October 31st, saves and closes the campaign and then the SF based employee opens the campaign in-app, they will see that the campaign is going to run starting at 6am their time on the 31st.

Time of Day Rule

This rule allows a customer to schedule a campaign to run on specific days of the week and during specific hours of the day.

The Time of Day rule time selections are made in UTC time. The text next to time picker makes it clear that times are selected in UTC time.

Timezone Example:

If a user based in Boston wanted to have a campaign run on Mon - Fri between 9am and 5pm, they would need to convert Eastern Daylight Time to UTC time. This means that 9am - 5pm EDT is equal to 1pm UTC - 9pm UTC. The UTC values are what would be entered in the targeting logic.
