This use case is for customers using Interaction Studio Classic (formerly Evergage Classic) ONLY. For customers using the Interaction Studio 'Campaigns and Templates' application, refer to the Use Case Library instead.
While most Interaction Studio clients kick off their recommendation strategies with product recommendations, category, department and brand recommendations are critical strategies for engaging visitors and shouldn’t be sidelined for long. Category and other dimensional recommendations give your visitors the opportunity to engage with personalized experiences that meet them at different stages of their journeys by surfacing the most relevant content and entry points to key discovery areas.
Segment
No segment is required for this play but you could consider leveraging segments in the Campaign Statistics screen to see how this experience works for different key segments like First Time Visitors, Returning Visitors, Buyers, Non-Buyers and more.
Measure
Leverage Clickthrough Rate at points higher in the funnel like the homepage to understand engagement but also focus on Conversion Rate and Revenue Per User throughout the site to understand the campaign’s impact.
Setup
Process
Here is a checklist of what you need to do in Interaction Studio to create this play on your own site:
Determine placement for the campaign.
Develop a Recipe based on Category, Brand, etc.
Develop and Item template for the Category, Brand, etc.
Ensure you have an item template that will match the look and feel for your placement.
Create a new Campaign within Interaction Studio’s Visual Editor.
Include the appropriate messaging and Item Template.
Under the Experience Message Settings, ensure the item template is set for Promoted Content using the Recipe you created.
Test and launch as you would any other campaign.
