The Interaction Studio web app and chrome extension login domains were standardized in September 2020 using a format that contains a region specifier. This change creates a better experience for Interaction Studio customers in different geographic regions around the world.

Interaction Studio Classic Only

If you are using a SAML integration to login to Interaction Studio from your own identity provider, you need to update your organization's SAML configuration to log into the Interaction Studio (formerly Evergage) Visual Editor Chrome extension. Since SAML authentication requires establishing a two-way trust between Interaction Studio as a service provider (SP) and your organization's Identity Provider (IdP), you need to change both systems:

  1. Import Modern SP Metadata into Your Identity Provider - upload the modern SAML Service Provider (SP) metadata for Interaction Studio to your SAML configuration
  2. Confirm your IdP validates this service provider metadata - make sure that the service provider metadata has been validated by your Identity Provider
  3. Set the Modern SP Entity as the Active Entity - Change the SAML integration configuration in Interaction Studio to begin using the modern SP metadata during SAML authentication requests
  4. Log into Interaction Studio using SAML - with these changes active, you can log into the Interaction Studio extension with SAML

This Article Explains

This article describes how to migrate an existing legacy SAML integration to the modern SP metadata format so you can log into the Interaction Studio (formerly Evergage) Visual Editor Chrome extension using SAML.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an Interaction Studio Account Administrator to carry out this process
  • As a fallback, reset your Interaction Studio password so you can log into Interaction Studio in the event that SAML authentication becomes unavailable during this process
  • Contact your organization's Identity Provider Administrator since this individual will need to make the identity provider configuration change.

Import Modern Service Provider Metadata into Your Identity Provider

  1. Log into Interaction Studio as an Account Administrator
  2. At the left, navigate to Security > SAML
  3. At bottom of the SAML Configuration page, locate the Active Local Service Provider (SP) Entity section
  4. Download the metadata for the modern SP entity ID. This entity ID will be a four-part domain containing both your tenant ID and a region specifier
  5. Import this metadata into your Identity Provider to trust Interaction Studio as a service provider

Do not proceed to the next section, Set the Modern SP Entity as the Active Entity, until you verify that you have successfully completed the previous step

Set the Modern SP Entity as the Active Entity

  1. Log into Interaction Studio as an Account Administrator
  2. At the left, navigate to Security > SAML
  3. At bottom of the SAML Configuration page, locate the Active Local Service Provider (SP) Entity section
  4. Select the modern SP entity as the active SP entity for authentication requests. This entity ID will be a four-part domain containing both your tenant ID and a region specifier
  5. Click Save at the top of the SAML Configuration screen. This change may take a few minutes to become active throughout your cluster.
