This use case is for customers using Interaction Studio Classic (formerly Evergage Classic) ONLY. For customers using the Interaction Studio 'Campaigns and Templates' application, refer to the Use Case Library instead.

It happens to everyone. In the course of online business – where web pages are added, edited, removed (often dynamically) – a visitor may come across an “unavailable page” otherwise known as a “404 not found error.” Rather than default to ugly page, Interaction Studio helps turn a bad customer experience into an opportunity by promoting relevant offers in place of an unavailable page.

Example

Let’s say a customer navigates to a product page that’s no longer available. Typically, the visitor would see an ugly “404 not found error” default page – one with no product details. However, you can use the Interaction Studio Catalog to identify unavailable pages and promote offers – in real-time – relevant to a specific visitor.


Segment

Build a segment to identify “404 not found errors” in the CSS, then trigger a swap of the page with one using promoted content.


Measure

This campaign would be measured by the number of views of promoted properties that appeared on “404 not found error pages.”


Setup

The Interaction Studio Catalog will identify the “404 not found errors” and will replace it will "promoted" pages based on products in which a visitor has expressed interest.
