This Article Explains

This article details how to create a new SFTP user.

Sections in this Article

Create an SFTP User

  1. Log into Interaction Studio as an administrator
  2. From the left navigation menu, select Security > Manage SFTP Configuration
  3. On the SFTP Users tab, click click Create SFTP User
  4. Enter or select the SFTP Credentials:
    1. Label - add a label to identify the account. This is not shown anywhere but on the Manage SFTP Configuration screen
    2. Dataset - select the dataset that this account can access

You can only select one dataset per user. If you access SFTP from more than one dataset in the same account, you must create multiple users. For example, you may want to set up SFTP access for your development environment, but will also need SFTP access for your production environment.

  5. Once the username and password has been created, you have the opportunity to Download SFTP Credentials. This is the only time you will be able to do that. If you do not save the username and password and need to access it, you will have to create a new SFTP user account
    1. Click show to view the masked password so you can copy it and the username to a secure location or add to your SFTP client
    2. Click Download CSV File to download a CSV file containing the URL, username, and password for the account
  6. Click Close once you have copied and/or downloaded the username and password
  7. The URL endpoint for the dataset is listed at the top of the Manage SFTP Users screen in the SFTP Login URL field
  8. Copy the following to your FTP client:
    1. Username
    2. Password
    3. SFTP Login URL (sometimes referred to as the "host")
  9. To delete an SFTP account, click DELETE
