You might find that a template (either a stock Global template or one that your developers have created) needs a modification. You still want to keep the original, but want to work with a copy. Cloning a template makes a copy you or your developers can work with to adjust. pixweb
Downloading and uploading web templates makes it easy to make a backup of a template or copy templates across datasets.

This article details how to clone an existing web template so you can make changes before publishing, then how to download an existing web template and upload it into your web templates library. |

Clone a Web Template
- Open the Salesforce Interactions SDK Launcher extension and log in
- Select Templates > View List from the Salesforce Interactions SDK Launcher tile
- On the Templates or Global Templates tab, search for and select the template you want to clone
- Click to clone the template
- The template will open in the Template Editor with the original template name, preceded by [CLONE]. Click the name to change it
- Make changes as needed
- Click SAVE to save the template
- The template will remain in a draft state until you click PUBLISH
- Regardless of whether the template originated on the Templates tab or the Global Templates tab, cloned copies can be found on the Templates tab
- Click CLOSE to close the template
Download a Web Template
- Open the Salesforce Interactions SDK Launcher extension and log in
- Select Templates > View List from the Salesforce Interactions SDK Launcher tile
- On the Templates tab, search for and select the template you want to download
- Double click or click to edit the template
- Click to download the template as a zip file
- Click CLOSE to close the template
Upload a Web Template
- Open the Salesforce Interactions SDK Launcher extension and log in
- Select Templates > View List from the Salesforce Interactions SDK Launcher tile
- On the Templates tab, click UPLOAD TEMPLATE
- Locate and select the downloaded template zip file
- The template will load and you will receive a confirmation message that the upload was successful
